Gerald “Jerry” Harley Muste, age 77, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born on October 1, 1946, in Grand Rapids to Harley and Theresa Muste. He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Muste; his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Muste; his son, Harley Muste; and his sister, Peggy Gurney (Muste). Jerry will be remembered by his daughter, Julie (Rob Nastaj) Kelly; granddaughter, Ava Kelly; his mother, Theresa Muste; sisters, Donna Bielecki (Lenny Dubert) and Chris (Jim) Brundidge; brother, Randy (Vickie) Muste; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald Gurney, Rob (Jan) Neuman and Julie (Ron) Cornetet; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marines. He continued to serve by becoming a Depute with the Kent County Sheriff’s office until his retirement.
Friends may meet with Jerry’s family on Thursday, February 22, 2024, 4-7 PM at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 where a service to celebrate his life will take place Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
