Grace M. Davis

Grace Mary Davis died peacefully September 18, 2024 at the age of 82.  She was preceded by the death of her parents Stanley and Amelia (Boone) Davis, her brothers Jack, Jim, sister Maybelle, and her daughter Katie Ortman.  Grace graduated from Coopersville High School and Michigan State University where she obtained 3 Masters degrees.  She taught elementary and middle school at Forest Hills School district for 30 years.  She is survived by her son Fred (June) Essner, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as her niece Gwen and 3 nephews, Steve, Tom and Jon.  She will be remembered for her love of weaving, animals, history and nature.  She will be missed by many friends, neighbors, soulmate Bud, and her cat Orlando.  A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday October 21, 2024 from 3-7pm.  A private graveside service will be held at Whitneyville Cemetery.
