Jeanne A. DeJong

Jeanne Ann DeJong passed away peacefully on Monday June 24, 2024 at the age of 72 into the arms of her savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Grand Rapids on October 15, 1951 to the late Arthur and Helen Romence. Jeanne will be forever remembered by her husband of 45 beautiful years Larry DeJong, sons Brandon DeJong, Andrew (Bethany) DeJong, grandchildren Maddie, Holly, Georgia and Donald, brothers Jack (Lija) Romence, Arthur (Julie) Romence, sister Joanne (Donald) Martis and sister-in-law Linda DeJong (late Ronald DeJong) along with countless nieces and nephews she loved deeply. 

Jeanne grew up in a loving household being the youngest of her siblings, she attended East Grand Rapids high school and  later became the business manager at West Michigan OBGYN where she worked for many years creating countless friendships. Jeanne had several hobbies including many years of bowling, shooting trap and skeet, watching softball where she met her husband Larry.  She enjoyed going to Florida every year with friends, playing lots of card games, hosting countless pool parties with family, and soaking up every last minute with her grandkids snapping pictures any chance she could along the way.  Jeanne believed in the life, death and the resurrection of her Lord and Savior. She strived to live for Jesus through her love of giving, her endless kindness and her beautiful smile. Her example and love will be missed by so many. Jeanne fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept her faith.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held on July 27 from 2-7pm at 10555 W Portland Rd. Clarksville, MI 48815. A short memorial service will take place at 5:00 pm. Food and drinks will be provided. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in her name.
