Jeanne L. (Ende) De Jong

Jeanne Louise De Jong, 77, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday March 6, 2025. Jeanne was born in Holland, MI on April 5, 1947 to parents Leon and Marie Ende. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Jeanne and her loving husband Herm recently celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage. She was an active member at Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Jeanne continually prayed over her children and grandchildren. Next to her Bible, Jeanne had this note: “I don’t know much, but 3 things I do 1) Prayer has power. 2) Faith moves mountains. 3) God’s love never fails.” We rejoice that her faith is now sight, as she is resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

After spending months in prayer, Herm and Jeanne recently decided to adopt a 5 year old yellow lab named Scout. A few weeks after Scout’s adoption, her Kennel Club paperwork arrived in the mail. Scout’s legal name was revealed as Jeanne Louise Scout. Jeanne recognized these types of instances as glimpses of God’s grace. 

Jeanne leaves behind her loving husband Herman Junior De Jong (married on January 30, 1965);  3 children, Herman (Kim) De Jong (lll) of Ft. Wayne IN, Kristi (Jim) Widdis of Grand Rapids MI and Ken (Mary) De Jong of Grand Rapids MI; 13 grandchildren, Michelle, Brittani (Robbie), Nikolette (Adam), Brooklyn (John), Ryley, Alisha (Jon), Amy (Tripp), Adam (Ashley), Lydia (Carson), Jillianne, Breanna, Gabe (Rylee) and Bailey (Ben); 18 great grandchildren; and sister Karen Brandsen. She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Marie Ende; Herman and Leona De Jong.
