Kathryn Bultman

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Kathryn Bultman age 82 of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday May 30, 2026. She is survived by two sons, Scott (Jackie) and Peter (Sarah), her three grandchildren, Max (Allison), Zoe (Adam) and Thea, her sister Val, brother Mike (June), as well as several nieces and nephews. 

After a long career as an elementary school teacher across the state of Michigan, Kathryn worked to establish the Ridgemoor Child Development Center for Grand Rapids Public Schools, where she worked as Principal for many years until retirement. During her time at GRPS, Kathryn earned her M. Ed and her MSW. In her post-GRPS years, she joined a local therapy practice, working with children and adolescents.

She enjoyed landscape gardening, and became a Master Gardener. She stayed active socially in retirement, meeting with other gardeners, her former teaching colleagues, and her friends at Grand Forum.

She requested no visitation and cremation, but a memorial service is planned in Grand Rapids for August 22, 2026.  Her most recent giving supported an endowment for teachers at the new Mary Free Bed kids hospital.
