Kathryn Lynn Soper, age 72, of Grand Rapids entered into eternal glory with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Mrs. Soper was born in Detroit, MI on June 8, 1952 the daughter of Christopher and Theresa (Rebh) DeSantis. She graduated from Bishop Borgess High School in 1970, which is the year she was awarded first place from the Michigan Accordion Association. She also was an accordion competitor at the World’s Fair in New York in 1964. She loved to bowl, dine out, and care for three dogs over her lifetime – Trophy, Charmin, and Gus.
Survived by her former husband, Larry Soper, their two children Doug and Angie (Cottrell) Soper of Bryan, Ohio and Steve and Ann (Soper) Bagley of Grand Rapids, MI. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Morgan, Bailee, Kalynne, Bryson, and Ethan Soper, as well as Micah, Will, Nathan, and Eva Bagley; two great grandchildren Dillon and Magnolia Soper. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard and her sister Lailani.
The family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, March 10 from 3 to 6pm. A private family service was held on Saturday, March 1.
For those who wish, memorials can be made to the Humane Society or to Calvary Church off the East Beltline in Grand Rapids where she attended for the past 10 years.
