Evelyn “Kay” Geib, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Kay was greeted by her beloved parents, Franklin and Norine Oom, and by her brother, James Robert Oom.
Our dear Kay was born on July 15, 1943, in Houston, Texas, and married the love of her life, James L. Geib in 1965. Kay and Jim shared a 60-year marriage filled with love, commitment, and laughter which modeled Godly love to their children and grandchildren.
Their children, Jim Geib, Ami (Ken) Neil, and Melissa (Todd) Wittlinger were so very dear to Kay and brought her immeasurable joy.
Kay loved Jesus and had a passion for sharing His love and tenderness with everyone she met. She was the most affectionate, thoughtful, and gracious mother, but her most prized role was that of grandmother to Megan, Grant, Kennedy, and Payton who adored their sweet Mimi.
She will be missed dearly by friends and family, especially during this holiday season, which was her favorite time of year. Her loved ones are comforted just imagining the indescribable joy Kay felt last Saturday as she fell into the embrace of her Heavenly Father.
Friends may meet with Kay’s family on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4-6 PM at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 where the service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, 1:00 PM.
