Laurie Dahlstrom

Laurie Ann Dahlstrom, age 61, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Chuck; children Brian (Molly), Allison (Ian), Angela (Aaron), and Christopher; and four grandchildren.  Laurie graduated from Farmington High School in 1977 as valedictorian. She attended Michigan State University, where she was a member of the MSU swim team and earned a BS and MS in Computer Science. She was employed at GE Aviation as an Engineer and Project Manager for 33 years. She worked many programs over her career, but was most proud of her work on the Air Force One flight management system. Laurie enjoyed traveling, exercising, and watching sunsets over Lake Michigan. Most of all she cherished spending time with her loved ones and bringing the family together.

A private service will be held for the family. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, September 26 at the Manhattan Park Pavilion, 430 Manhattan Rd SE, East Grand Rapids, 49506 12-3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Michigan Quality of Life Program in Grand Rapids.
