Nancy Jean (Hollenback) Martin, 89, passed away peacefully at home, on April 14, 2025, after her four-year journey with Alzheimer’s.
Nancy was born on April 5, 1936, in Berwyn, Il, to Marianne and Thurman Hollenback. She attended Albion College where she met and married the love of her life, Coby Martin, in 1956.
Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends. Nancy was an avid crafter, and loved to read, travel, sing in the church choir and had a quiet yet quick sense of humor.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Coby, and her three children, Pam (Chip) Meier, Laurie (Ken) Kreg and David (Barb) Martin. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Katie (Nathan) Broadfoot, Suki (Andy) Atzhorn, Maggie (Carter) Godfrey, Maddie (Cody) Knuppenburg, Bobby Martin, and Adam (Braeden) Martin. Nancy was gifted seven great grandchildren, Hazel and Cobie Broadfoot, Connor and Sylvie Atzhorn, Macy and Cooper Godfrey, and Archie Knuppenburg whom she adored. She is also survived by many dear friends she loved as family.
The family would also like to extend much love and gratitude for the compassionate care Nancy received from both Acti-Kare and Corewell Health Hospice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2345 Robinson Rd, Grand Rapids, MI, 49506, on Saturday, April 26, at 3:00 pm. At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be directed to the Mayflower Congregational Church Music Program for a future concert in memory of Nancy.
