Peter Wolf

Peter Duke Wolf, age 86, passed away on August 10, 2023, at Spectrum Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  He is survived by his children Cynthia Sheppard (Robert) and David Wolf (Michelle); his grandchildren Connor Sheppard, Camille Sheppard, Brendan Sheppard, Bella Wolf, and Annalise Wolf.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Julie Mulnix Wolf, his sister Stephanie Huges, his brother Johnny Shoemaker, and his grandson Gordon Wolf.  Peter was born April 21, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1943, he grew up on a horse ranch with no electricity or running water.  He attended Southern Arizona School for Boys, graduating from there.  He attended the University of Colorado for one year but had to stop for financial reasons.  Peter Coors lived in his dorm.  After that year he never cared for Coors beer again.  Working for a few years, he was able to attend the University of Arizona.  Graduating with a degree in Business.  He met his wife, Julie, while attending the University of Arizona.  As a boy, Peter, frequently spent summers with his grandparents in Philadelphia.  Boarding a train in Tucson he traveled across the country mostly accompanied by his Grandmother, but sometimes alone.  Peter was very fond of his Grandparents.  Peter enjoyed boating.  The pinnacle of his boating career was his twenty-six-foot Tiara Yacht, Phantom.  From the Phantom’s home port, Drummond Island, Michigan, Peter and family cruised around the Great Lakes.  One thing Peter enjoyed more than boating was going on cruises.  He and Julie booked yearly cruises around the Caribbean, and Central and South America.  This included a once in a lifetime cruise all the way down to Antarctica.  Peter and Julie would start planning next year’s cruise well in advance.  Peter had a great sense of humor.  He maintained this until the end.  Peter was a very good provider for his family, supporting all his children’s endeavors.  He will be missed.  Please join the family for a memorial service to celebrate Peter’s life at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2345 Robinson Road, on Friday, August 18, 2023.  Visitation in the Church Atrium at 10:00 a.m., service following at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to remember Peter may be sent to North Shore Animal League America.
