Phillip L. Wright

Phillip Lynn Wright age 81 of Georgetown Township went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 44 years Pamela and his parents Rev. Ira and Sylva Wright and his siblings Byron, Bruce, Georgia and Ruth.  Phil is survived by his loving wife Ramona Jo Wright; three daughters, Tammie (Jim) Daugherty, Stacey (John) Saur and LeeAnne (Geoff) Widlak; nine grandchildren, John (Amber), Christina (Travis), T.J., Kelsey (Anthony), Lindsey, Libby, Abby; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Evan and Grayson; two step children, Jenny Jo (Steve) Shumard and Oren (Star) Harrell; four step grandchildren, Paul, Kyle, Jude and Annabelle; two step great grandchildren Ty and Ryne; two brothers, David and Dick (Sue) Wright and many other family members.  Phil owned and operated Send Delivery and First Class Delivery.  Phil had the body of a fine tuned athlete, and he often surprised people in a conversation with a joke out of left field that just felt like it was a part of the story he told.  He loved cars and Sunday drives.  He thought anything with chocolate was terrific.  Phil was always showing pictures of his family sharing all of the neat things they had done.  His map making skills from the Army helped him in the delivery business, but it was all of his favorite employees that made the business a huge success.  He would sing on command and he whistled his way through the day.  When Phil sang barbershop, everyone stopped what they were doing because we all loved to listen.  Everyone who knew Phil, simply knows that he was full of love.  There will be a private family service at 11AM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 which will be live streamed on the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home website.  The family will greet friends on Wednesday, February 10 from 4 to 6pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home.  The family has designated American Cancer Society or the Michigan Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis for memorial contributions.
