Phyllis Diane Hochberg

Phyllis Diane Hochberg, a beloved and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on June 27, 1932, in Detroit, Phyllis lived a life rich with love and laughter that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was the cherished wife of Sidney Hochberg (deceased), a partnership that was a testament to the power of love and commitment; they shared countless memories that will forever resonate within their family.

Phyllis is survived by her devoted children: Son and daughter-in-law Sam Hochberg & Pam Smith and daughter & son-in-law Florence & Mark Grant.  Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Daniel, Hannah, Mathew, and Michael, and her great granddaughter: Mara. Each one carries forward her lessons of good humor, kindness, and resilience she instilled in them.

Known for her classy yet cozy demeanor combined with just the right touch of sassiness, Phyllis had an infectious zest for life. She loved nothing more than a good walk through nature or a good drink while sharing stories with friends around the table. A true lover of life, she could light up any room or dance floor with her own signature style.

Her ability to connect deeply made Phyllis well-loved among all who crossed her path; friends often remarked how easy it was to feel at home in her presence. Whether hosting gatherings or simply offering advice over coffee chats filled with laughter, the warmth that she exuded and insights that she shared left a lasting impression on all who were in her orbit.

As we remember Phyllis today, a woman whose spirit shone brightly, we celebrate not only what she accomplished but also how profoundly she impacted those around her. Her legacy lives on through every story told about shared moments spent together, the essence of family bonds woven tightly by love, and we find comfort knowing that such beautiful memories will never fade away.
