Mary Primrose Sebastian lost her long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and more recently Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Prim was born on March 21, 1946, and was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Virginia (Wally and Juno) and her brother Russell (Rusty). She is survived by husband of 55 years, John, daughter Meg, son Andrew (Elizabeth) grandsons Andrew, Sam and Grant Evans, brother Tom (Patti) and her in laws Jim and Susie, Mike and Mary, Dave and Bette Sebastian, and Anne and Ken Jackson. Prim was a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School and Endicott Junior College. She was a member of the Ronald Yaw Guild of Blodgett Hospital, the Junior League of Grand Rapids, and treasurer of the Mary Free Bed Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, and skiing. She was even willing to risk riding on the back of a tandem bicycle with John. She loved to cook, assisted in creating the Junior League Cookbook, and was known for her cherry berry dessert. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren by spending winters in Denver and in Grand Rapids and the family cottage on Lake Michigan in the summer.
A Celebration of Prims life will be held 11am on Thursday May 18, 2023 at Fountain Street Church. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests donations be directed to the Mary Free Bed Guild Legacy Fund (235 Wealthy St SE Grand Rapids MI 49503) or a charity of their choice.
