Richard K. Cardinal

Richard Kenneth Cardinal, age 84, of Kentwood passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born in Belding Michigan on October 12, 1937 the son of Kenneth and Idell (Stieg) Cardinal. He graduated from Belding High School class of 1955. He served in the Navy Reserve from 1954 to 1962. He worked as a Manufacturing Supervisor at Westing House/Knoll Furniture Systems. After his retirement, he worked part time at Menards and enjoyed helping others with his knowledge and skill in handyman work and house renovation.

In 1955, he married his best friend and the love of his life Kay Arlene (Hardy) Cardinal who passed in December 2012. He was also preceded in death by his son Scott. Surviving are his son David (Lisa) Cardinal and daughter Georgia (Andre) Campos. Also, surviving are his four grandchildren Anthony Guitierrez, Garrett Cardinal, Lindsay Murphy and Madison Sutton and his seven great grandchildren Siana, Simone, Mateo, Braeden, Coulter, Vada and Graycen. He is also survived by his 3 brothers Gene, Jerry and Tom Cardinal.

The family is planning a celebration of life service with the immediate family on Tuesday March 29, 2022.
