Ronald Boyd Day, aged 89 years, of Grand Rapids, peacefully passed into the presence of his risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 25, 2023. Surviving are his beloved wife of 14 years, Dolores “Dee” Day (nee Scholtens); his son and daughter-in-law, Charles C. “Curt” and Jennifer L. Day of Grand Rapids; his three precious grandchildren, Dana Kathleen Schuler-Day (Tristan), Carmen Ruth Day, Ian Charles Day, and his great grand-daughter Johanna Josephine Schuler-Day, all of Grand Rapids; brother- and sister-in-law Bill and Sara Scholtens of Middleville; sisters-in-law Eunice Green of Stockton, CA, Fran Bouma and Jo Bouma both of Edgerton, MN; Barbara Bouma of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by the first love of his life and his wife of 42 years, Anna Josephine Day; his beloved sister, Charlene Belle Day; his parents Charles Curtis and Carmen Charlotte (nee Badders) Day; brothers- and sisters-in-law Alvin Bouma (Catherine, and latterly Trina), John “Jack” Bouma (Adrianna), Bernard Bouma (Eleanor), Adrian Bouma (Doris), James Bouma (Lorraine), Wallace Bouma (Verna), and Frederick Bouma. The family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Avenue, SE, with Rev. John Steigenga and Pastor Chad Boorsma officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Fairplains Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Henry Beets Mission Society c/o LaGrave Avenue CRC.
