Rosa M. Staeven

Rosa Staeven passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the age of 75.  She was born in Beeville, Texas on August 2, 1949 to the late Trinidad and Carolina Cantu.  She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Tresa (Carl) Corbeil, Jennifer (Rich) Langridge, son Robert (Nicole) Staeven, grandchildren Alexander and Hunter Langridge, Pierce, Harper and McKenzie Staeven, brother Tomas Cantu and many nieces and nephews.  Rosa was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 49 years, her sister Maria and brothers Alfredo and Trinidad Jr. "Tiny".  

Rosa lived a life filled with love, resilience and grace.  She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, serving as a pillar of strength and warmth through every stage of their lives.  She pursued an active career in accounting.  She found joy in being with family and friends and was always ready and willing to make a taco dinner.  She leaves a legacy of cherished memories.  Her presence lit up every room, and her unwavering love and guidance will forever remain in the hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI 49301 with Fr. Logan Weber as celebrant.  The family will meet relatives and friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a rosary at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be a private service at Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
