Heaven gained an angel as Shirlee A. Schmelter (Moore) of Lowell, MI left us to soon on Sunday, December 27, 2020.
Survived by her husband of 43 years, Phil, with daughters Michelle and Christine and son (in law) Brian Moody.
She spent the last 10 years at the Gun Lake Casino where she touched so many people as she greeted everyone with a smile or a chuckle with many guests searching her out specifically!
We were always able to con her into our shenanigans by dragging her on ghost tours to Salem, Chicago and Louisville and on family trips to Vegas and “junking”.
We know that she is currently flying high with all creatures great and small as she never met an animal she didn’t like and that didn’t adore her and she especially enjoyed her time volunteering at the John Ball Zoo.
She also leaves behind two brothers, Craig and his wife Paige, Lance and his wife Rosa, multiple nieces and nephews. Shirlee also leaves her beloved four dogs and two cats behind.
Our hearts are broken that we cannot all be together and to share our stories and love for Shirlee at this time. But please keep her spirit alive and remember all the good times, laughs and conversations that you had with her as we know she made impressions on everyone she met.
Private services are planned and we ask that anyone wishing to send flowers to please not and instead make a donation to her beloved favorite charities in her name:
