Shirley Joyce Partin

Shirley Joyce Partin passed away on Friday September 15, 2023 at the age of 92.  She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on August 17, 1931 to the late Charles and Agnes Burdick. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Ann Snyder of Knoxville, TN, Gay Voss of Plainfield, IL, Beth Nabors of Atlanta, GA; nephews Marc (Barbara) Engleright of Portage, MI and Brent (Ruth) Engleright of Laramie, WY.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Partin and sister Thelma Engleright.

Shirley was an elementary school teacher for many years at Grand Rapids Schools. She had a master’s degree from Michigan State University and was a loyal alumni.  She enjoyed watching Michigan State basketball, playing with her Sheltie dog Puffin, reminiscing about her years spent traveling with her husband, visiting with family and friends and her Jeeps. Shirley was a very devout christian and practiced kindness to others. She loved her neighbors and watching the school kids file by from the nearby elementary school. Shirley was very charitable to many organizations including Mel Trotter, Salvation Army and ASPCA. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her numerous phone calls were legendary. 

Entombment was at Graceland Memorial Park.  Private family services were held.
