Susan Gleacher

Susan Griffith Gleacher passed away on Monday August 12, 2024 at the age of 82.  She was born in Grand Rapids on January 23, 1942 to the late Lucian and Helen Griffith.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, John, Sarah and James, her sisters Katherine and Margaret, and her several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Susan devoted a large part of her life to the profession of teaching, first to the children of officers enlisted at Camp Lejeune in the 1960s, then at a private school in Montclair, New Jersey in the 1970s and 80s, then at Cathedral school of St. John the Divine in New York City in the 1990s, and finally, ending her career as a consultant at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Susan was many things in addition to being a teacher. She was a strong, hearty soul with a sharp, sense of humor and a soft heart. She was almost always right, patient to a flaw, and a true example of integrity. She will be missed.
