Susan Elizabeth Kinney

Susan E. Kinney, age 73, of Grand Rapids passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 after a short illness. Susan was born in Grand Rapids on February 23, 1946, the daughter of William and Lillian Manning who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Kinney on August 16, 2007; her sister, Emily Duchene and grandson, Justin Simon. Surviving are her three daughters, Heather (Shawn) Simon, Nancy Kinney and Elizabeth (Ronald) Stanton; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Simon, Marissa Kinney, Shawn Simon Jr., Kaleb Simon, Kaylie Stanton, Ronald Stanton Jr., Aiydan Stanton and Emily Stanton; one brother, William J. (Arlene) Manning and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kinney graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1964 and attended Taylor University and Davenport College. She had worked for Old Kent Bank before meeting her future husband, Daniel.  Susan volunteered for 16 years at Straight Elementary School.
