Suzanne Fischer

Suzanne H. Fischer (Henkey) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 25, 1941 and died peacefully in her home on October 28, 2021. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and worked as an x-ray technician at Columbia Hospital there. She married Gary C. Fischer (d. August, 1995) on November 19, 1968. She loved being a mother to her three children: Todd (Ann) Fischer, Terry Fischer (d. 2020), and Andrea Kaplan and three grandchildren: Dominic, Alexis, and Cameron. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. Suzanne was often complimented on her immaculate housekeeping skills and gently teased by family and friends for her disdain for spilling on her carpets. She enjoyed baking and knitting and would often offer presents of bread, cookies, blankets, or scarves to new and old friends alike. Her kindness and generosity was witnessed by many. When she wasn’t extending her loving spirit to others, she would serve as a volunteer for Hospice of Greater Grand Rapids or The Kids’ Food Basket. Visitation for Suzanne will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 2 to 5pm at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service 4291 Cascade Rd. SE Grand Rapids. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Arbor Day Foundation, Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids, Kids’ Food Basket.
