Teresa “Terri” Lynne Savoie (née Stahl) of Lowell, MI, passed away on March 13, 2025, from complications following an aortic aneurysm. Terri also donated all possible organs through Gift of Life, which will help save up to 70 lives and train cadaver dogs, and help with research. Terri was 62 years old.
Born on April 15, 1962, in Dunkirk, NY, Terri grew up in Columbus, OH. She studied Political Science at Wittenberg University, where she met her future husband, Mark Savoie. They were married on February 18, 1984. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family.
Terri was a talented pastry chef and lifelong baker, working with private clients and restaurants. She also supplied herbs and produce to central Ohio farmers markets, and at the time of her death, she had recently started an organic landscaping business.
In 1994, Terri and her family moved to Richwood, OH. She devoted herself to homeschooling her five children, developing a creative and well-rounded curriculum that spanned from kindergarten through high school. As a therapeutic foster parent, her compassion, patience, and humor helped guide several teenagers through difficult times.
Terri was deeply involved in her communities, enriching the lives of countless children and teens. She volunteered with the Rocky Fork 4-H Club, the 3C’s Countywide Cloverbuds Club, and sports organizations like Central Ohio Rowing and Westerville Crew. And Hocking Valley Gymnastics. She also supported arts organizations like Columbus Youth Ballet and Columbus BalletMet. After moving to Lowell, MI, in 2018, Terri continued her volunteer work at the Lena Meijer Children’s Garden at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
A voracious reader with an insatiable appetite for learning, Terri also excelled at quilting, sewing, and making ballet costumes. She loved gardening, long walks on the beaches of Lake Michigan, and collecting seashells on Sanibel Island, FL.
Terri was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mark Savoie; one daughter, Maggie Savoie (fiancé Kyle Hansen); four sons: David (wife Kelly), Tyler (wife Diana), Corey, and Taran (wife Callie); a sister: Tammy Stahl-Garber; two brothers: John Stahl and Chris Stahl; and two grandchildren, Carter and Izzy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park on May 10th, 12:30pm - 4:00pm. In keeping with Terri’s love of flowers, spring-colored clothing is appreciated.
