Terence “Terry” Ward was born on March 26, 1965, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and passed away on December 28, 2025. He spent his entire life in the Grand Rapids area. He attended Catholic Central High School where he took college preparatory classes and participated in school activities including wrestling, in which he excelled. He won the Grand Rapids Press wrestling tournament in his weight class and was subsequently named City Champion and Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Terry tried his hand at the trades, serving as an apprentice plumber. He also worked at EPS Incorporated as a burglar and fire alarm technician. He later attended Aquinas College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He excelled in accounting and business and was named to the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society. Terry gave back to the community by preparing income taxes free of charge. He shared his deep faith in God by serving as a spiritual minister at the Kent County Jail and lived his faith through all of his activities. He worked for Groenink’s Elevator Hardware, Inc. and Big Jim Trucking, Inc. in Human Resources and accounting for over 20 years. Terry loved fun times and gave back more than he ever took. He was very seldom out-fished or out–deer-hunted. Terry had a strong bond with his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his father, Gene Ward (Barb Ward); his mother, Lois Ward; and his siblings: Patrick Ward, Maureen Dakesian (Jack Dakesian), Colleen Lopez (Jose Lopez), Erin Huddleston (William Huddleston), and Kate Hull. He also has seven nephews and one niece. A service will be held January, 10th at 1:00 P.M. at the American Legion Hall, 91 South First Street, Cedar Springs, MI 49319, with a luncheon to follow.
