Thomas James Williams, age 83, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15th surrounded by family.
Tom Williams was born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 14, 1938. The son of James and Flora (Reed) Williams. He graduated from Creston High School, class of 1956 and attended Stanford University in California where he graduated with a BA degree.
Tom was active with the Better Business Bureau and served on the board at his church, First United Methodist Church of Grand Rapids. Tom formerly owned Williams Magnavox (Home Entertainment Centers) and was a successful business broker with the Charter Group. Tom enjoyed golfing, waterskiing, boating and coin collecting.
Tom is survived by his first wife Rochelle Williams and their daughters Pam Mundstock (Tom) and Brenda Grismer (James) and grandchildren Alex Mundstock (Lauren), Audrey Mundstock, Mary Grismer and William Grismer. Tom was formerly married to Carol Williams who preceded him in death and two stepchildren, Lisa Bowen and Tim Hanson. Tom is also survived by his current wife Patricia Williams and stepdaughters, Katy Brown and Michelle Anshutz.
There will be a private family burial at Cascade Cemetery, officiated by retired Reverend Diane Gordon and a future Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer’s research.
