Virginia Remington (Moore) Braley 91, died on September 23, 2020. She was the daughter of Harper and Kate Moore, and a friend to all and good listener, into the “world of words”. She enjoyed many interests: family foremost, cactus-gardening, dogs, painting, fashion, reading, long walks, and writing. Virginia received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Michigan and taught German there as a “Teaching Fellow”. She served with the U.S. Foreign Service in Germany, and later wrote Fashion for the Grand Rapids Herald and the Press, plus free-lance for many local and national publications. She also led various writing groups. Surviving are her husband, John “Jack”, daughters Nancy Northard, Betsy Braccio, and Sally Jackson, plus grandchildren Jon, Alexandra, Nick, and Logan, and great-grandchildren Connor, Jaden, and Noah, and her sister Betsey Tinkham.
There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, 185 Oakes St. SW, Grand Rapids 49503, or your favorite charity.
