Virginia Miller Obituary

Virginia Lee (Koch) Miller, aged 94, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born July 4, 1930, in Flint, MI, the only child of Juanita (Willer) Koch and Earl “Pete” Koch. She was raised in Cape Girardeau, MO and graduated from South East Missouri State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She married Dr. Ray G. Miller in 1951. Virginia is survived by 2 daughters, Pamela Luetkemeyer (J. Philip) and Cynthia Falvo (Vincent) and 7 grandchildren, Lindsay Snyder (Ryan), Megan Anes, Jennifer Fletcher (Joe), James Luetkemeyer (Samantha), Michael Luetkemeyer, John LaPresto (Erika), and Suzanne Falvo, plus 12 wonderful great-grandchildren.

After moving to Brentwood, MO, Virginia taught at the School for the Young Years in Clayton, MO, and kindergarten and 2nd grade at McGrath Elementary School in Brentwood. She ended her teaching career as head librarian at the International School in Yugoslavia. Virginia was always active in the community. Upon moving to Sun City West, AZ, she tutored at Nadaburg School and was a Stephens Minister at Dessert Palms Presbyterian Church. She was active in playing golf, bridge, traveling, fishing and entertaining family and friends. She was a past President of her Arizona P.E.O chapter and was currently a member of P.E.O. Chapter AM in Grand Rapids, MI.

A short service will be held at Ford and Sons Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, MO on Tuesday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m.  A luncheon will be held after.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on July 2nd at Sentinel Pointe at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Joan Cornelison presiding.

Thank you to Faith Hospice, Healthcare Associates and the dedicated employees at Sentinel Pointe for making mom’s last days so comfortable.

Virginia’s vibrant spirit shown as brightly as the Independence Day fireworks (her birthday), leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
