William David Brown, age 74, passed peacefully on March 4, 2025 as a faithful servant of his Lord, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, known for his kindness, patience and unwavering faith.
Born on March 13,1950 in Mount Pleasant, MI, and a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School and Western Michigan University. He built a successful career as a CPA, faithfully dedicating 52 years.
Bill married the love of his life, Amy (Holloway) Brown, on June 23, 1973. For 51 years, they lived life filled with love, laughter and adventure. His greatest joy was being a husband to Amy and a father to his two children, and he loved being ‘Papa’ to his two grandsons. Bill was known for his wisdom, quiet strength and sense of humor – always ready with a dad joke to bring a smile to those around him.
His lifelong passions were music and muscle cars. He was an active member in many ensembles; Thornapple Community Church (TCC) praise band, Michigan Mandolin Orchestra and the Kalamazoo Mandolin Orchestra.
A man of deep Christian faith and an active member of TCC. He is survived by his wife, Amy; his children, Laura (James) Egan and Scott (Annette) Brown; his grandchildren, James “Will” and Maxwell Egan; sister, Leslie (Mike) Williams. Preceded in death by his parents, David Brown and Janette (Richard) Engel.
Funeral service will be at 11AM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Thornapple Community Church, 3260 Thornapple River Drive, Grand Rapids, MI. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dutton Food Pantry, an organization close to his heart.
