William C. Lundquist

William C. Lundquist, D.D.S., M.S.D., age 99, of East Grand Rapids (EGR), MI passed away on May 13, 2025.  Dr. Lundquist graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and practiced as a general dentist in Chicago 1955-1961 and as a periodontist in Grand Rapids 1961-2000. Bill served in the Hospital Corps of the U.S. Navy 1944-1946. He was a Life Member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan State Dental Society, the West Michigan District Dental Society, and the American Society of Periodontology.  He was a longtime member of Mayflower Congregational Church and Cascade Hills Country Club.  Dr. Lundquist assisted for many years with the East Grand Rapids Aquatics Club (Waves) where his three children participated. As his seven grandchildren started swimming competitively, he moved to the spectator section.  Bill loved puns and twisting of words and shared his quick wit for the enjoyment of those with him.  He along with his wife, Marilyn, set a high standard for service, including Mayflower Congregational Church, EGR parent/teacher organizations, EGR city/school election campaigns, EGR Aquatic Club (Waves), and Sweet House Foundation.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Marilyn M. Lundquist, father Gottfred R. Lundquist, his mother Margaret M. Lundquist, his sister Elizabeth L. Myers and brother-in-law Robert Meeth and sister-in-law Gloria Kress. He is survived by three children, Janet Korn, Robert (Nancy) Lundquist, and Peter (Debbie) Lundquist; and seven grandchildren, Jenny Korn, William Korn, Kelly (Fred) Millett, Robert (Taylor) Lundquist, Michael Lundquist, Molly (Jordan) Norville, and Emily (Danny) Lundquist; and three great-grandchildren, Isla Millett, Will Lundquist, Hattie Norville; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.  The family extends special appreciation to Avis Brooks for the care and companionship she provided Bill and Marilyn over the last few years. Cremation has taken place.  Internment is at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sweet House Foundation at the Sweet House 254 East Fulton 49503, EGR Schools Foundation 2915 Hall St. 49506, or Mayflower Congregation Church 2345 Robinson Rd. 49506.
