Wyetta L. Mosey, 95, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15 after a brief illness. She was born in Switz City, Indiana, in 1925. Wyetta had many interests - her family, fashion, interior decorating, and gardening. She loved to bowl (many times high score), walk, square dance, and travel. She has walked the beaches of Florida, Bora Bora, Tahiti, the Grand Caymans, Mexico, Jamaica, St Kitts, and closer to home Alaska, Alabama, Florida, and Atlantic City, Charleston and of course the Great Lakes. She journeyed to China, Hong Kong, the Amazon, Canada, Greece, Australia, New Zeeland, Ireland, England, Scotland, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Russia. She went to most states in the US, but one notable trip took her to the Rose Bowl in California (Hail Purdue!) Wyetta didn’t particularly enjoy cooking, but she made a mean pie. She couldn’t swim, in fact was afraid of the water, so made sure all her children had swimming lessons at a young age. She laughed a lot. She loved a good martini and sitting around campfires at Silver Lake. Hers was a full life, well lived. Wyetta was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years John Mosey, her second husband of 18 years, Rollo Parker, and her sister Jeanette Moore. She is survived by her 3 children Jane (Dick) Kennedy of Waukegan, IL, Michael (Mary) Mosey of Petoskey, MI and Jill (Jeff) Palmby of Decatur, AL, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren. There will be a private service on Wednesday August 19. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Bright Focus (research of Macular degeneration), or the Mental Health Association of Morgan County (PO Box 1502 Decatur, Al 35602.)
