Yvonne Jasperse Obituary

Yvonne Jasperse, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26th, 2024.

Yvonne was born in Evart, MI to Herman and Nellie Karsten. She spent her working career in service as a nurse; first in obstetrics at Butterworth Hospital, then in geriatrics at Luther Village, where she retired as the Executive Director of Nursing. Yvonne was very active in her church and was the first woman elder elected to the consistory of Bethany Reformed Church. She was a devoted wife and mother; loved to cook, golf, and read; was an avid gardener; and was beloved for her kindness and spirit of generosity to all she knew.  Throughout her life, Yvonne touched many lives with her unwavering dedication to her patients and her community. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she became a mentor and friend to many. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family and friends gathered to enjoy her delicious meals and vibrant gardens. Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Jasperse, in 2018. She is survived by her brother Brian (Diane) Karsten and children Douglas (Paula) Jasperse, Jeffrey Jasperse, and Kristin Jasperse as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
