Janet Ann Buth

Janet A Richter, Withey, Buth, 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.  Proceeding her in death are her husband, John G, Buth, her daughters Carole Elizabeth Withey Riebel, and Cheryl Ann Withey.  Surviving Janet are her son, Lewis Hinsdill Withey IV (Robyn) and her grandchildren, Zachary Lewis Withey, Nicholas David Withey and Mackey Conant Withey; Alesha Cheryl (Joel) Burgess; Christopher Fredrick (Amie) Riebel; Jessica Rose (Dave) Huizinga; and Amanda Ann Riebel; 11 great-grandchildren and many caring friends.  Janet was born in Flint, Michigan December 17, 1933.  Her family moved to East Grand Rapids, where she graduated from high school.  Janet went to Michigan State University where she played flute in the Marching band.  Janet and her late husband, John, were prominent members of the horse community and owned many winning race horses.  Janet loved: God; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; The Farm; her race horse, “Cherie’s Challenge”, named after her daughter, Cherie; Michigan State Spartans; knitting, and her friends from knitting; her dogs, Mandy, Jessie, Jacques, Mimi and Emmie.  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3 from 2:30 – 4:00 at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, 4291 Cascade Rd with a Memorial Service immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to Harvest Bible Chapel, Spring Lake, MI would be appreciated. www.harvestspringlake.org.
